What is your name, year, pronouns, major(s), minor(s), and your hometown?

My name is Aathreya Kadambi and I am a sophomore. I use he/him pronouns and my majors are Math and Computer Science. My hometown is Princeton Junction, New Jersey. I chose this major because I thought that math was interesting and computer science is just an essential tool related to math. These two things combined, led me to where I am.

I was in DF Fall 2022, DM Spring 2023, and DC Fall 2023.

What was your favorite SAAS memory?

My favorite SAAS memory is getting boba with friends because that is what I do the most often. I haven’t gotten a chance to go on retreat, which I will next semester. My favorite social activity so far was the ice skating social.

What are some of your hobbies?

In my free time I like to play music - I play the piano, tabla, and violin. I also like to play ping-pong and enjoy singing Hindustani classical music.

What is your favorite class at Berkeley and why?

My favorite class in Berkeley is Math 128A, a numerical methods class. I thought that it was a good “in between” Math and Computer Science. It combined a lot of interesting ideas. It also had physics simulations.

How did you find out about SAAS and why did you join?

I found out about SAAS just through tabling - the community stuck out to me. I found the social round to be very fun and a good introduction to the DF directors.

What is your favorite part about SAAS culture?

I think what makes me stay is the community. I think the community in SAAS is a unique one, and is really a pleasant experience.

What is your favorite library?

My favorite library is Moffit floor 1. I also like Soda and Cory hall.

What is your boba shop?

My favorite shop is Rare Tea!

What is your spirit animal?

Cats are my spirit animal because they are always chillers and look cool. I also like the Warriors book series, which is a series revolve around cats.

What is your favorite restaurant?

Seniore's Pizza.

What is your favorite bathroom?

In evans/etcheverry, the stalls are in bad shape. The splash zone is not good.

What is your hot take?

Rare Tea is the best boba shop.
